Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register my child for skating programs?
Registration is done via paper or PDF forms only. First, obtain a form from our coaches, the club, or download it from our site. Fill it out completely and return it to a club representative. Please email us for help at Skatemorinville@shaw.ca
What equipment is required to start?
All skaters in learn-to-skate programs must have a CSA-approved hockey helmet. Skaters also need a supportive pair of skates and warm, flexible clothing. We recommend layered clothing as the arena can be cold but skaters warm up quickly.
Which program level should I select for my child?
For beginners aged 3-5, start with Pre-CanSkate. Older beginners or those with basic skills should join CanSkate. Our coaches assess all skaters during the first week to ensure they are placed in the most appropriate group for their skill level.
Are there late registration options available?
Late registration is available if space permits, though programs often fill up quickly. Prorated fees may apply for late starters, but the mandatory Skate Canada membership fee remains fixed for the season.
